Spring Clean-up Week at the New Gloucester Transfer Station is held in May each year.   Clean-up week allows residents to bring Bulky Waste items to the Transfer Station at no charge
(a bulky waste sticker is not necessary).
Watch for dates and more information on the Town website or Cable TV Channel 3 in the spring.

Stumps, leaves, pine needles, large drums or closed metal containers are not accepted at anytime.

All types of oil including Clean Waste Oil, are accepted (year round).
(Did you know when you recycle clean waste oil at the New Gloucester Transfer Station,
the oil is being used to heat the Public Works Garage, saving taxpayers' dollars)

New Gloucester residents and property owners must have an annual permit sticker for each vehicle used to dispose of bulky waste. The fee for the stickers is $5.00 per vehicle.  This permit will allow disposal of bulky waste at the New Gloucester Transfer Station throughout the year. Lost or stolen permit stickers will only be replaced by buying another permit for $5.00. Some examples of the types of solid waste for which disposal fees will charged include the following:  furniture, televisions, computers, carpet, toilets, mattresses, tires, baby car seats, bucket or bench car seats, wood, brush (no stumps, leaves or pine needles), plywood, etc.

On July 1st of each year, there will be new Bulky Waste permits issued.

Residents will continue to use their free Transfer Station stickers to dispose of their regular household trash.   These non-municipal solid waste permit stickers are not available to commercial haulers; they are for residential users only. Commercial haulers shall continue to dispose of bulky items at the Mid-Maine Waste Action Corporation (MMWAC) in Auburn.
